Transit Museum
New York Transit Museum
Location:
Boerum Place at Schermerhorn Street, Downtown Brooklyn
Getting there:
Take the Number 4 or 5 Subway to Borough Hall, or the A, C or F Subway to Jay Street-Borough Hall
The Experience:
The New York Subway system is the largest in the world. Over six million “straphangers” ride the rails daily. The Museum is housed in a decommissioned station in easy-to-reach downtown Brooklyn. The many exhibits will enable you to explore the complex network of tunnels and bridges linking the System’s 468 stations. But the highlight of your visit is sure to be the Nostalgia Train. The past will come alive as you board a vintage 1920’s car for a ride to Coney Island. For more information visit www.mta.info/mta/museum.
