Rockefeller Center (Radio City)

When construction started in 1930, Rockefeller Center was the largest privately funded constructed project ever undertaken. The original 14 art deco style buildings were completed three years later. Five additional office towers were added in the 1950′s and 1970′s. The best-known attractions are the RCA Building (aka GE Building, aka 30Rock), the 6,000 seat Radio City Music Hall, the skating rink and – during the Christmas season – the lighting of the tree. For great panoramic views of New York, visit the observation deck (Top of The Rock)..Get there just before sunset and watch the lights come on.
